Damage from the recent storm continues to affect Evansville.
Almost 175 customers in the area of Covert and Vann lost power for a short time about 8:30 Friday morning.
Vectren officials say the outage was caused by a tree limb which fell on a power line.
According to the Vectren Outage Center, all homes and businesses affected were back on line in less than an hour.
Vectren’s web site offers this caution about downed power lines:
It is best to assume all power lines are live, whether they are connected to your home, a utility pole or lying on the ground. Stay back and keep any equipment at least 10 feet away at all times. Obey the warning signs alerting you to the high voltage area and stay away. If something such as a ball, kite or other item goes inside the fence, call Vectren at 800-227-1376.
