EVSC’s Board joins with the Evansville Teachers Association in passing a resolution opposing An Indiana House bill that would help more families qualify for school vouchers.
The public school system instructs as much as 90 percent of Hoosier students.
EVSC Board president Andrew Guarino says the bill isn’t fair because it creates a smaller economic pie from which teacher salary increases can come.
If passed the bill could cost the state $200 million.
EVSC urges a letter writing campaign from parents to legislators opposing the voucher bill.
