E-P-D says they’ve received word of a scam involving phony traffic citation.
The victim receives an email featuring a fictitious citation and demanding payment within 72 hours via Easy Pay as one alternative.
E-P-D says it does not instruct citizens to pay up through Easy Pay, and that any genuine citation will feature instructions on how to contact the courts in reference to the citation and will have the issuing officer’s name and badge number on it.
