Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin and Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding plan to meet later this week. They’ll discuss security measures in light of concern about possible unrest. Bolin says he’s been in contact with federal sources, but he’s not aware of any specific concern locally.
The FBI has alerted all 50 state capitals, warning of protests by extremist groups leading up to Inauguration Day, now one week away. Wedding says the state capitol is a more likely place for protests, but they’re taking nothing to chance.
