According to Evansville Police, a man was exiting his car in the 900 block of West Columbia when he was struck by a vehicle driving eastbound. That man was taken to Deaconess hospital and treated for severe injuries. EPD tells us the driver believes they may have fallen asleep at the wheel before the accident.
No charges have been filed, and the accident is still under investigation.
