Gibson County is looking for a new company to design the jail. County Commissioners decided yesterday (Tuesday) to no longer use architecture firm American Structurepoint. Plans have been in development for over a year, and the clock is ticking on the project. Control reverts to the federal government if a judge decides the mid-January progress report is not on schedule.
The Commission is now looking for cheaper companies to oversee the jail’s expansion. Commissioner Ken Montgomery says the search includes companies that are offering to do the work for half the price.
