Evansville Central Dispatch says crews were called to a structure fire on the 1600 block of Glendale Avenue around 5:45 p.m Thursday.
According to the Evansville Fire Department, firefighters reported fire coming out of the front of the residence into the street.
Officials say the fire originated in a bedroom on the first floor, then spread into the second floor. Firefighters say they believe the fire started on a mattress or bed.
The fire was extinguished around 7:05 p.m. The cause is still considered unknown.
Fire officials also say a neighboring house sustained heat damage during the fire.
