A development group has put together and submitted applications for $18.4 million in Indiana Redevelopment Tax Credits to develop an entire city block which will become vacant with some demolition.
Last month, developers trying to re-do the 18 story 420 Main building determined that its condition made renovating prohibitive.
So the Downtown Evansville Development Corporation — bought the adjacent Sycamore Building. Both will come down to make way for a state-of-the-art building which will house dining, office, and residential spaces.
The total investment will be about $67 million.
