Last night’s Monday Night Football game between Baltimore and Cleveland tied a record for most rushing touchdowns (9) in an NFL game, a record held in part by the Evansville Crimson Giants.
The record was both set, and tied, in the 1922 NFL season.
The Rock Island Independents and Evansville Crimson Giants set the record of 9 rushing touchdowns on October 15th, 1922. Then the Racine Legion and Louisville Brecks tied the record on November 5th of the same year.
The Evansville Crimson Giants were an NFL franchise from 1921-1922 and played their home games at Bosse Field.
