A proposed academic reorganization plan at the University of Evansville could signal the end for degrees in areas such as music, religion, philosophy, electrical engineering, and computer science.
Multiple faculty positions could also be eliminated.
The President’s Council proposed those changes, effective with the fall 2022 semester.
UE President Christopher Pietruszkiewicz (pet-ro-SKEV-itch) calls them “tough decisions.”
Students now enrolled in those programs will be able to complete their degrees.
Officials say that before any final decisions are made, faculty will have the opportunity to weigh in.
