The longest running Christmas parade in Indiana is still on.
But Boonville leaders say this year’s parade will be different because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Breaking with long tradition, there will be no bands, marchers, and there wo n’t be any candy thrown to the crowd during the event. And officials are asking the crowd to respect social distancing and to wear masks as they enjoy the parade.
The 74th annual Boonville Holiday Parade will step off from Boonville High School about 2pm Sunday and will wind around the town square.
The parade will be streamed live on the Boonville Merchants Association Facebook page.
