We’re learning more concerning a fatal officer involved shooting that happened near downtown Evansville Sunday night.
Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cherry Street about 8:15 where a woman was complaining that a man was in her back yard threatening to shoot her dog.
She said the man pointed the gun at her at least once.
A department spokesman says officers confronted the armed man and he was unresponsive to commands to drop the weapon.
Two officers fired at the armed man who subsequently died.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s office identifies the deceased as 33 year old Rodriguez Daundre Pam.
Police plan to release body cam footage of the incident this morning.
