The white flag location in Owensboro is changing this winter.
The white flag is displayed in frigid weather, indicating that the shelter is open to everyone. This winter, the white flag will be flying at Owensboro Christian Church.
Officials say that location will be more suitable for more social distancing.
Everyone wanting to stay will be screened for COVID-19. There’ll be a separate area for anyone who does not pass a preliminary screening. The plan is expected to be okayed by the city commission at its November 12 meeting.
