Kentucky state police say a trooper was injured when a semi crashed into his patrol unit.
Trooper Ben Sawyer called the Madisonville post to say he had been involved in an accident involving a big truck.
The trooper was protecting a surveying crew with his emergency lights on.
Semi driver Charles Treat of Burnside Illinois tried o apply his brakes but still hit the police car.
Trooper Sawyer was treated and released at Baptist Health, Madisonville.
