Four people were injured in a shooting outside an Evansville bar early Sunday.
Evansville Police Sgt. Nick Winsett says at least two people began firing at each other in the parking lot of the Sidetrack Inn on East Illinois Street. According to a post on the bar’s Facebook page, a costume party was happening at the time.
Winsett says off-duty officers were working security, but were unable to engage the suspects because to a lot of people were around. The people left the scene before other officers arrived.
Shortly afterwards, four people showed up at the hospital with gunshot-related injuries. Two victims are believed to have direct bullet wounds. Two others are believed to have been struck by fragmentation. All four are expected to survive.
