Police say a person who died at the scene of an automobile accident Saturday had been shot. According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner, it was the gunshot wound that was the cause of death.
The Evansville Police Department is now treating the case as a homicide.
The crash happened around 6:45. Saturday afternoon at Kentucky and Keck Avenue. EPD says the driver left the road before hitting a concrete abutment. An ambulance crew and the Evansville Fire Department attempted life-saving measures but were not successful.
