It was a busy morning for highway workers and first responders, as heavy rains pounded the tri-state for several hours.
There were numerous reports of roads closed by high water, and cars sliding off slippery roads.
The storms represent what’s left of of Tropical Storm Zeta, as it works its way across the eastern U.S.
Several roads in Northern Vanderburgh County were impassible much of the morning because of high water, as was the Virginia Street viaduct, and rural roads in surrounding counties.
Drivers reported low visibility because of the intensity of the rain, but few significant accidents were reported in the area.
As the front passes, it will bring cooler temps through the weekend.
