The Gibson County Health Department will add some teeth to Governor Holcomb’s executive order mandating face coverings for food service workers.
The Health Department will start issuing citations, and even orders to close, to restaurants, convenience stores and groceries whose staff members don’t comply with the mask order.
The first process is an investigation and a warning letter.
If not compliant after that, there could be a $250-a-day fine, and if the rules are still not being followed, an order to close.
Health officials say there is widespread noncompliance and a growing number of COVID-19 cases.
