Evansville police say a man walked into the E-R at Deaconess Midtown just after one o’clock this morning.
He had a gunshot wound.
Police arrived at the hospital and spoke to the victim and a witness.
They told officers they were walking in the area of Mary and Oregon — neither could recall the exact location.
They say a black passenger car pulled up to them and the occupants started shooting.
They were unable to name their assailants nor to tell police who owned the car.
The security guard apparently told police there were gunshots several blocks from the hospital, and just minutes later, the gunshot victim showed up at the hospital.
The victim and witness refused to cooperate with efforts at investigation and said they did not wish to press any charges.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Police are working on it.
