Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has renewed his executive order mandating that gatherings of 1`25 people or more need approval from the Vanderburgh County Health Department.
But an Evansville city councilman says that renewal violates state law.
Councilman Justin Elpers says once an executive order has been in effect for seven days it must be placed before the city council to be renewed.
