The U-S Mine Safety and Health Administration issues its preliminary report on a Hopkins County coal miner’s death.
The accident happened earlier this month at Warrior’s Cardinal Mine.
The report says the miner, 58 year old Phillip Ramsey, was getting out of a shuttle vehicle he had just parked at an intersection.
As he did no, he was struck by a battery powered scoop.
Other miners rushed him to the surface but he died at the scene.
