A miner has been killed at the Warrior’s Cardinal Mine in Hopkins County.
Company officials confirm that a miner was struck by a piece of mobile equipment a little after 8:30pm Tuesday.
Co-workers rendered first aid and transported him to the surface where local first responders took over.
Efforts to resuscitate the miner were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead.
State and federal agencies have been notified.
