The man accused of killing his child earlier this year gets a new trial.
A mistrial was declared last month in the matter of Jacob Bengert, after the jury was unable to reach a verdict in his first trial.
Police responded to Bengert’s home in January on reports that his son wasn’t responsive.
Investigation revealed that the child had suffered considerable blunt force trauma and had burn marks on his extremities.
Bengert’s second trial is set to begin on October 28.
