So far, at least, no arrivals or departures at Evansville Regional Airport seem to be affected by imminent layoffs at American Airlines.

The carrier will begin furloughing workers today (Thur).
As many as 19-thousand employees could be affected.
The number of passengers has dropped dramatically in the past few months.
Industry analysts say airline travel may not return to pre-pandemic levels until 2024.
