The three people in an SUV which was rammed from behind Monday afternoon died on impact.
That’s according to Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear.
He identifies the victims as 36 year old Crystal Lawrence, along with her children, Abigail Lawrence, age 15 and Chase Lawrence, who was 6.
Damon Busby, who remains hospitalized, is charged with three counts of reckless homicide after his pickup truck rear-ended the Lawrence car at high speed at 41 and Covert, sparking a fire that could be seen for miles.
Accident reconstructionists looked at video taken by a semi which shows the accident.
The hope was that they could gauge the speed of the pick-up truck by the skid marks.
But there weren’t any.
Investigators will use other methods to try to determine his speed.
Police say Busby also ran the stop light at 41 and Riverside before the crash.
