There is a future for high school sports in Henderson.
The county school board met in special session Monday night to consider how to move forward with sports safely.
Leaders finally decided in favor of the players, but worked out some protocols to help make the playing safer.
The district plans to avoid COVID hot spots, including Jefferson, Warren, and Fayette counties in Kentucky and probably Vanderburgh County in Indiana.
Coaches in high contact sports agreed to eliminate tournaments, and to only compete and junior varsity and varsity levels.
