Evansville police respond to reports of a big fight in the 400 block of Edgar Street just before 3 o’clock this morning.
They hear shots as they neared the location, and are flagged down by a woman who told them she had been shot in the back of the head.
Officers were only a couple of blocks from an emergency room so they didn’t wait for an ambulance, and took the woman in themselves.
She’s in stable condition. No arrests have been made as yet.
