For the first time in it’s near-100 year history,
Ellis Park was the scene of a qualifying race for the Kentucky Derby on Sunday.
A small crowd of derby-hatted fans came to cheer on the field and become a part of track history.
“Art Collector”: cruised to a 3 1/4-length win on the 1 1/8-mile course, and will advance to the Kentucky Derby, being held this year September 5.
