Charges have been filed against a Gibson County woman who… with two other people …led police and her family to believe she had been abducted.
Hannah Potts, with the help of Joshua Thomas and Maria Hopper, allegedly posted on social media, and involved law enforcement in a phony abduction.
Potts allegedly staged the hoax as research for a novel she is writing.
The probable cause affidavit says Thomas and Hopper hid her, and were untruthful hen questioned by officers searching for Potts, who was later found at their residence.
All three were booked on false reporting charges, and Thomas and Hopper have been released.
