The Vanderburgh County Health Department says a bat found on the east side of Evansville tested positive for rabies.
The disease is fatal in humans if left untreated.
It you’ve been bitten, scratched, or exposed, you should seek treatment.
It’s also important to make sure your animals are up to date on their rabies shots.
