Two homes in the Bellemeade/Bayard Park area are getting new solar arrays.
The homes are owned by the Community Action Program of Evansville — CAPE — and are part of the Solar Indiana campaign to educate Hoosier about solar energy.
The systems, provided by Morton Solar, are “grid tied” which means they are connected to the homes’ electrical boards.
That allows them to send any extra power generated back into the power grid for use by neighboring homes and buildings.
CAPE held a ribbon cutting to commemorate the beginning of service for the solar-equipped homes.
