A source tells us that the annual Festival on Franklin Street has been cancelled for 2020, however the Half-Pot raffle will still be happening.
There will be no West Side Nut Club Fall Festival in 2020.
Calling it a most “difficult decision,” Nut Club president James Raben told the membership that the annual festival is off.
Raben said in a statement that he and the Festival Board members had consulted with the Vanderburgh County Health Department, the Mayor’s Office and both area hospitals and other COVID-19 specialists, and that if they could not get an OK from each of those authoritative organizations it would not be in the Club’s best interest to move forward against their advice.
Raben said the half-pot, which was so successful in it’s inaugural appearance in 2019, will continue this year, which would permit a level of support to the non-profits who benefit from the Festival. More information on ticket sales will come later.
