Chuck E. Cheese, the kids eatery and playground, and birthday party Mecca, was struggling even before the COVID pandemic forced the closure of its outlets, including the Evansville facility.
But the long period with the doors locked have forced the 43 year old company into bankruptcy.
The Irving, Texas based CEC Entertainment Company filed for Chapter 11 on Thursday.
It’s not clear how that filing will affect the company’s Evansville operation on the city’s east side.
