The man who died of a gunshot wound early Sunday morning was apparently the victim of a drive-by shooting.
Evansville Police were called to 709 E. Virginia on a report of someone having been shot.
The victim was loaded into a private car and taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital where extra officers were dispatched.
Investigators on Virginia Street found shell casings and spoke to witnesses.
Those witnesses said that 22 year old Javion Bell and friends were getting out of their car at that location when another vehicle drove by and the people inside started shooting at them.
Bell was hit, and died at the hospital.
At the moment there is no description of the suspect vehicle nor it’s passengers.
