Tropical Storm Cristobal came ashore Sunday, sending waves crashing over Mississippi beaches, swamping parts of an Alabama island town and spawning a tornado in Florida.
Cristobal made an afternoon landfall in Louisiana packing 50-mph winds and a storm surge were along the Gulf Coast, posing a threat across a wide area into the Florida Panhandle.
Cristobal, now downgraded to a tropical depression, is expected to keep inundating the northern Gulf coast well into today (Monday).
Some rain from the storm is expected in the TriState.
