The Tri-state is awash with rumors that out-of-towners will make their presence known during weekend protests.
Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin took to social media to discuss the possibility of more weekend protests.
He said, in part: : “….we are planning for numerous scenarios, this doesn’t mean these scenarios will happen. My philosophy is plan for the worst and hope for the best. Please continue to notify us as you hear things, but don’t panic.”
You may spot off-duty deputies on downtown rooftops this Saturday.
They’ll be there to keep an eye on the area from above.
The Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District is calling out to business owners and downtown residents.
They want people to heavily water planters.
This will make them harder to move.
People living downtown are also being asked to remove any landscaping, or loose items like planters, decor, or temporary signage for the weekend and to also monitor outdoor seating or tables.
