The gavel will fall in some Vanderburgh County Courts on Tuesday as the county’s judicial system begins to return to business.
Chief Judge Les Shivley says superior court will begin doing business that day, with restrictions owing to the Corona Virus.
Those restrictions include clearly marked six-foot distances in waiting areas and in courtroom seating; temperatures will be taken before visitors go through security and there may be questions about contacts, and both visitors and staff will be required to wear masks.
To help with social distancing, the high-volume courts, Juvenile, Misdemeanor and Small Claims, will convene for a time at the Old National Events Plaza.
Misdemeanor Court will resume June 1; traffic court will re-start June 8.
Judge Shivley says if you have a question or are unsure about an appearance date you can go to mycase.in.gov. You can reach it by Clicking Here.
