Officials in Daviess (DAVIS) County, Kentucky want to know what caused damage to the recently-restored Panther Creek Bridge.
A spokesman for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says it appears the structure on Highway 81 was hit by an oversized load.
There is damage to every cross member along the top portion of the bridge.
Transportation officials do not know who was driving, or when the crash occurred.
A marked detour is in place on KY-81.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet or the Kentucky State Police.
The incident is remarkably similar to an incident in January involving the Pigeon Creek bridge in Evansville, which is still closed.
Officials do know who was driving in that accident.
The truss-bridge was damaged extensively when an oversize load escort reportedly missed a turn and led the semi across the bridge, causing extensive damage to the steel atop the span.
