Beer bread has been around forever, of course, but a lot of folks are either discovering it for the first time thanks to social media or had perhaps forgotten about it. It’s extremely simple, takes only a few ingredients and make a wonderfully tasty bread! Lots of variations but here’s ours:
1 can or bottle of beer (12 oz).
3 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
Mix ingredients and pour into baking pan (sprayed or greased).
Bake at 350 for 40 – 60 minutes.
Part of the fun with beer bread is the difference you get depending on the beer you use. I have a pal who swears by Dos XX bread. We love Guinness bread. By the way, for a sweeter bread use a light lager and don’t add the pinch of salt.
