John Gibson

John Gibson is a news editor and anchor at WIKY and host of the 30-minute news magazine, Evansville in the Morning, which airs at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Thousands of people start their day with John, to learn what happened overnight in the community, the region, the nation, and the world. The show includes the latest news, weather and traffic information. It also features local family therapist Dr. Jim Baize and the Dow Jones Money Report. Following Evansville in the Morning, John delivers Traffic Watch reports throughout the morning commute. John has been a member of the WIKY News team for more than two decades and has reported on events like the C-130 plane crash in 1992, numerous political elections, and the local response to the 9-11 attacks. He's also won numerous Associated Press awards. He began his broadcasting career at USI, where his wife Erin teaches journalism. They share their home with a dog and a "few" cats. They're also members of the local rock group The Toddlers. John is a big baseball fan too, rooting for the White Sox, Cardinals and the Otters.
