Sheriff i.d.'s hit-run victim; seeks help from public
A man killed in a hit-and-run in Warrick County early Thursday morning has been identified as 42-year-old Jeremy Compton of Newburgh. The Warrick County Sheriff's office says it appears Compton ran out of gas at Epworth Road and Lincoln Avenue, and was walking southbound on Epworth Road to get gas. A driver called 911 about 2 a.m. after seeing Compton's body on the road. Warrick County Sheriff Brett Kruse tells WIKY his department is reviewing surveillance video to try to get a description of the car involved. Anyone with information is being asked to call the Warrick County Sheriff's Department.
