** The Cardinals lost a heartbreaker last night to the Texas Rangers, 2 to 1 and the World Series is now tied at a game apiece.  They now travel to Arlington for the next 3 games.  Let's GO CARDS!!

 

**  We welcomed in the Evansville Ballet to the Extortion Breakfast this morning to promote the ballet school and also their version of "The Nutcracker."  It's coming to the Victory Theatre on Sat. **  And, we celebrated a very special birthday today.  Helen Couts, who lives at Atria in Newburgh, turns 105 years old today!!  We did a special feature on how old Helen was when these certain things happened during her lifetime.

 

When Helen was:  

2 - The Model T was introduced.  (The Model A came out when she was 21). 

 

6-The Titanic sank on her maiden voyage.  She also shares a birthday (same day, same year) with Lillian Asplund, who was the last American Titanic survivor. Lillian passed away in 2006).

 

12 – When the US entered WW 1(1918)

 

23 – When the stock market crashed.  That was the same year talking pictures came out.  (1929)

 

33 – When Gone with the Wind premiered. (1939)

 

39 – VE Day (1945)

 

45 – When I Love Lucy debuted (1951)

 

50 – When Elvis released Heartbreak Hotel (1956)

 

57 – When JFK was killed (1963)

 

62 – When Neil Armstrong walked on the moon (1969)
