There's a TV "Dr. McDreamy" for every generation

Hey, it's Diane Douglas, and in what is becoming almost a daily event, we've got another celebrity obit in a very busy 2012.  The latest 3 celebrities to pass away (in the last two days) are astronaut Sally Ride, Sherman Hemsley (George Jefferson) and Chad Everett (Dr. Joe Gannon on Medical Center).

This got us to thinking that he was one of the original "Dr. McDreamy's" on television.  I know I had a MAJOR crush on him when I was a kid.  We heard from several people that Chad did commercials for Deaconess Hospital back in the day and would come to Evansville on a fairly regular basis.  I did some research and found that there has been a hunky TV doctor (or several) in every decade since the 1960's.  So, without further ado, here are your "Dr. McDreamys" thru TV history!

1.  Ben Casey (Vince Edwards) 1961

2.  Dr. Kildare (Richard Chamberlain)  1961

3.  Dr. Joe Gannon of "Medical Center" (Chad Everett)  (1969)

4. Dr. Steven Kiley of "Marcus Welby, MD" (James Brolin)  (1969)

5.  Dr. Kelly Brackett of "Emergency!" (Robert Fuller)  (1972)

6.  Dr. Gonzo Gates of "Trapper John, MD" (Gregory Harrison)  (1979)

7.  Dr. Bobby Caldwell of "St. Elsewhere"  (Mark Harmon)  (1982)

8.  Dr. Noah Drake of "General Hospital"  (Rick Springfield)  (1982)

9.  Dr. Doug Ross of "ER"  (George Clooney)  (1994)

10.  Dr. Derek Shepherd of "Grey's Anatomy"  (Patrick Dempsey)  (2005)

So, do any of these doctors make housecalls?  Enjoy your eye candy for're welcome!
