My husband Jeff posted this video on his Facebook page and I just think this is a wonderful story!
Zach Beckman is a senior at Jasper High School who has Down's Syndrome. He's been a loyal and valueable member of the football team for four years and his dream was to score a touchdown during a game.
Well, thanks to the generosity of the Mt. Vernon football team and their coach, Paul Maier, he was able to do just that. I had to grab the Kleenex about halfway through this video.
Just when you get completely disillusioned by some professional athletes and their monumental egos (LeBron, anyone?) along comes a feel-good story like this. Kudos to Paul Maier and the Mt. Vernon Wildcats!
